Zurich August 2006

In August 2006 my wife, daughter and son in law went on a weekend break to Zurich. Shame the weather was poor, much rain, so sightseeing was very limited. The views of the surrounding hills and mountains were non-existent, but as usual the feel of the city was still good.

Here is a picture from one of the lake steamers, we had bought a 72 hour travel ticket that gave us unlimited travel on local trains, trams, buses and boats. These tickets are great value for money.

Zurich has this big wheel, not as big as the London Eye, but is still an attraction to be seen; especially at night.

Here Helen and Ben wait the arrival of a tram to take them back to their accommodation, after a wet night walking the city and visiting bars and restaurants to shelter from the rain.

The two photos above are also taken from the steamer, which is a very pleasant way to see the outskirts of a wonderful city.
