In September Patricia and I went to Mahon in Menorca for a weeks “blob-out" holiday. Having been before we decided to stay in the Capital to eat al-fresco at the wonderful restaurants on the harbour side. You can see the hotel (Port Mahon Hotel) on the skyline. Apparently it was the first holiday hotel built in Mahon in the 1960’s, but it has recently been refurbished, and breakfast’s are “to die for”.

The picture above from the upper walk by the harbour, taken at night, shows the restaurants by the waterside. We had many meals there along side multimillion pound yachts and boats.
This is another view from the upper walk towards to main harbour where large cruise ships and ferries dock.

The above scene is from our hotel at breakfast time, such a lovely view. Remembering this was the last week in September, note short sleeves.

During our stay this clipper docked. Apparently £60million had been spent on its refit, to make it a very luxurious vessel. Check out www.starclippers.com. (this vessels name is Royal Clipper) Also note the two rear masts are exhaust pipes for the main engines.

We had many great meals at the harbour side. Fish and seafood were exceptional, seafood paella, and the local mussels were probably our favourites. The local Mahon gin and fanta lemon is a wonderful summer drink.
