Pelydryn's Last Trip - June 2006

In early June, Our very good friends Jerry and Gillian asked us to crew their narrow boat (Pelydryn) on its last trip to a brokerage in Ivor in Buckinghamshire. Jerry and Gillian brought the boat down from Pitstone to Berkhamsted on the Friday. Patricia and I join them on the Saturday Morning. These photos are not in order, but this is Black Jack’s Lock near Harefield.

This picture was at the start of the second day’s cruising. This is Iron Bridge Lock in Cassiobury Park, Watford. Jerry is at the helm and Gillian is walking the dogs on the towpath.

This photo is of Canal Field in Berkhamsted. Gillian had
purchased what turned out to be a wonderful “bagged” curry
from Waitrose. I think we provided
some wine, but the orders were to drink all the alcohol
that remained on board. Well as often happens
I became “Harborned” and certainly remember starting the
curry, but I do not really remember
going to bed, or whether England lost, drew or won
at football. (World Cup match that evening)
Another great weekend with the Harbs, Thank you Jerry and Gillian,
life would not be the same without you both.
